What modes are in the game?

Three, and they serve different moods. Prophecy Mode is the single-player heart — four complete story campaigns, one per Clan. Defender Mode is a score-attack survival run against the game’s fiercest enemies. Skirmish Mode is the multiplayer option: asynchronous 3v3 battles against other players.

What is Prophecy Mode?

The main campaign. You create a cat, join one of the four Clans, and play that Clan’s original story — its prophecies, rivalries, and challenges shaped by its culture. Four campaigns means four distinct perspectives on the same Lake Territories, which is where most of the game’s move unlocks and rank progression happen.

What is Defender Mode?

A single-run gauntlet: face all of the game’s fiercest enemies in sequence and see how long you last. It is the purest test of the combat system — no story padding, just your build against escalating predators and battles. Expect it to expose gaps in your move coverage fast.

What is Skirmish Mode?

Asynchronous online battles: your three-cat party against another player’s, resolved without both players online at once. It uses the same 3v3 turn-based rules as rival Clan battles — think of it as the PvP ladder. Your den visits also run through this online layer, letting friends see your cat and den.

Which mode should I play first?

Prophecy Mode — it teaches the systems, unlocks your kit, and builds the character you will take everywhere else. Add Defender Mode runs when you want a quick combat fix, and dip into Skirmish once your move set covers at least two elements.

Frequently asked questions

Is there co-op or real-time PvP?
No real-time multiplayer at launch — Skirmish battles are asynchronous and den visits are passive.
Do modes share progression?
Your cat, unlocks, and rank are the spine across modes; Defender and Skirmish draw on the same move list you build in Prophecy.
