How does combat work?

Battles are turn-based with up to three cats per side. On your turn you pick actions from your unlocked move list — but timing matters. Well-timed inputs strengthen your attacks and defenses, so combat rewards rhythm and anticipation more than raw menu play. Target enemy weaknesses to break their guard faster.

What are the 75 combat moves?

The game ships 75 unique moves, all discovered and unlocked through play rather than bought from a list. They fall into three layers:

Layer What it does How you get it
Basic techniques Standard strikes with Clan flavor Available early, improves with training
Clan-specific moves Signature techniques reflecting your Clan’s identity Unlocked by progressing your campaign
StarClan ancestor attacks Powerful supernatural strikes granted by StarClan Earned through key story and rank milestones

The full combat move list tracks every move and how it is unlocked.

How do weaknesses work?

Enemies carry elemental and behavioral weaknesses. Hitting a weakness deals bonus damage and builds toward breaking the enemy’s stance — once broken, they take heavily increased damage for a window. This is the core skill check against predators and major battles: bring coverage for the enemy’s weakness element before the fight, not during it.

What are StarClan ancestor attacks?

StarClan-granted attacks are your big red button. These ancestor techniques hit far harder than normal moves and can swing a losing 3v3. They are earned, not spammed — expect to unlock them at rank milestones and story beats, and to use them a handful of times per battle at most.

How should I build my move set?

  1. Cover at least two elements so you can exploit weaknesses (see predator guide).
  2. Keep one reliable direct technique for normal turns.
  3. Save your Clan signature + ancestor attack for break windows.
  4. Re-visit your loadout as new moves unlock — 75 moves means your kit evolves constantly.
